Välkommen till Lindström, MN Sister city to Tingsryd, Sweden
Karl Oskar Days |
|
Schedule of Events
BELOW
| Karl Oskar and Kristina Nilsson are fictional characters in Vilhelm Moberg’s classic novels who represent the thousands of Swedes (and other immigrants) who left their European homelands in the late 1800’s to seek a better life for themselves and their families. They came to America (many to the new Chisago Lake settlement) for land, jobs, and religious freedom. They labored intensely to make their dreams come true and experienced much joy and sorrow along the way. Join with us in celebrating the rich heritage of the St Croix Valley and the uniqueness of downtown Lindström – sister city to Tingsryd, Sweden. Committee Acting Chair: Paul Dennison, 651-257-4818 651-257-4818 Registration forms to PO Box 159, Lindstrom, MN 55045 |
